1> To insure the recruitment of successful pilots: The Fatal Shadows will only accept those pilots who we deem meet the necessary basic skills of starship piloting. While we are willing to encourage training, a basic level must be set so we can maintain our status as a power on the Zone.

2> To recruit active and determined pilots: It is inevitible that some people will simply drop out of the game scene as time passes. The Academy is designed to make sure that FS members are those that can stay the course, participate in all our activities, and be proud of their abilities .

3> To train basic flight tactics: A good pilot can still be a terrible wingman. The FS Academy is designed to teach every new recruit the basic concepts of flight so we work better as a team.

At the Fatal Shadows Allegiance Academy several training courses are available for new cadets and older pilots to use to train new skills and understand how to fly better. Each course is a guide on one aspect of the game, and although each is considered a good source of information, each pilot is still advised to fly with an expierenced member.
