- Archived News" For a chronological history of the Fatal Shadows, read from the bottom up. Most of the history beyond 10-30-97 was gathered by Kelannar, Whitedragon and Thermal in attendance of important meetings on Kali and the Zone and through saved logs in ICQ. Although some of this is public knowledge, it has finally been collected here so that the true story and drama of the emergance of the Fatal Shadows as the greatest organization can finally be told. |

| August 22, 2001 | An apparant news blackout has been lifted as these reports come in from the front.... The much awaited Final Allegiance Patch is released with some positive and negative changes. Most noticeablly, balance changes give Gigacorp Tactical Forces a superior edge over other coalitions. Bios HTT and Rixian Destroyers have been limited in certain ways. In addition to these changes, the Allegiance Zone is discontinued as well as stats. Allegiance is now FZ only and has to be supported by User Run servers. Free zone is unstable and sometimes support of the game has to run via 3rd party application SovRoute in order to play. FS looks towards other games as Allegiance Support Declines severly and it is unknown whether or not Squad Games will continue. Overall Wins recorded by Fatal Shadow's Fleets in Allegiance stands at 18 (Including Beta) and was ranked 4th in overall Final standings. The fleet mobilizes as Eve-Online holds Beta Signups. A much anticipated MMRPG which is due to be released 2nd Quarter 2002 could hold Fatal Shadows Future. | May 17. 2001 | According to Microsoft, Allegiance has been saved. After months of dwindling subscription numbers they have decided to Make Allegiance Free by combining both Allegiance Zone and Free Zone to allow all 5 factions with bug fixes and balance changes to be available to everyone. So if you have the CD, you can play all you like now. :) Here is a copy of the Microsofts News: The Future of Allegiance May 15, 2001 Get ready for a major change: Allegiance is switching entirely over to the Free Zone lobby, making the game completely free to play! The reviews have remained stellar (even getting a nod from Gamespy.com for “Best Simulation Game of 2000”), but subscription numbers no longer justify continuing Allegiance in its current form. The Allegiance Team has always appreciated those hardcore fans who've made the game one of their favorites. We've repeatedly stated that players' enjoyment of the game is our highest priority, and we continue to stand by that statement. So forget the whimper, we're going out with a bang! In the coming months, Allegiance will be given its final patch update. This patch will not only transition the game from subscription-based to the Free Zone lobby model, but will also implement the following changes: All five factions will be free to play in the Free Zone lobby. Games can be set for 64 players maximum, instead of 32. A set of balance changes will be made. The Allegiance Zone will be removed. AZ features will become part of the Allegiance Free Zone (except for AZ Stats). Minor bugs will be fixed. Out of respect for a truly great game and in appreciation for all its die-hard players, Allegiance will continue to operate free of charge. Continue your fight for system superiority -- and our deepest thanks for making Allegiance the phenomenal gaming experience it has been! | |
| April 1, 2001 | Due to personal reasons and real life constraints, Grand Admiral Thermal Meltdown steps down and appoints Admiral Falcon4 as the new Grand Admiral, the 5th GA in FS's history. It was felt that new leadership could help FS through the next transition phase as Allegiance is on its way out and Jumpgate, Mech4 and Tribes 2 are being explored. Admiral Whitedragon, former Webmaster and Fleet leader retires. Grand Admiral Thermal stays on with FS as the new fleet leader and will serve GA Falcon as Ambassador and Advisor. Thermal retires his Grand Admiral rank and assumes a new rank of Admiral in his new position. | |
| March 2001 | During this time, Commander Black violates Probation and by popular vote is explused from Fatal Shadows. Virus resigns from Fatal Shadows also as a result. Damage in the Allegiance community and to this day Black is associated with unfair game play and game crashing. Many people blame Black for the mass exit of players from the Pay Zone. Many Allegiance Players unsubcribe and continue on Free Zone to this day. Although tarnished by actions of 1 player, the 'FS' insignia still stands for honor and fairness in game play. | |
| Feburary 2001 | It is decided that divisions with Fatal Shadows will be dropped and all squads will be multigaming. Netdevil's Jumpgate (Beta) is added as well as Mechwarrior 4. WWII Online is suspended indefinetly as it has been pushed behind schedule. Brigadeer General Talis decided to leave the organization due to reallignment and continued lack of support of older squadron games which were retired in the Summer of 2000. Grand Admiral Thermal Takes a Brief Sabatical. During this time, Senior Commander Black is brought up for violation of Zone's COC and Violating FS Honor Code. He is found guilty, reduced by 1 rank, and given 30 days probation. | |
| January 2001 | News of the lack of support to Microsoft's Allegiance comes as no suprise as all Allegiance Zone Devs and Helpers are reassigned to other projects. Most older squads have disolved and remaining 'pay zone' players form super squads which eliminate team play. The only remaining vestage at this time to remain a paying subscriber is Allegiance Wars. Many FS players are part of the Sol Free Protectorate squadron (A Bios Team) | |
| Friday December 29th, 2000 | General News This news emcompasses the past few weeks but important things need to be said to bring people up to date. Due to the efforts of Thermal, Whitedragon and Rhow, the FS pages have received a much improved facelift to prepare us for the new millinieum and the year 2001. This is an ongoing process so you may see new changes to come. Most importantly, our new Sgt of Arms, SGT Major Rhow has done an outstanding job in recruiting as the floodgates of new cadets have arrived. They arent a well-oiled machine yet but with the brotherhood of FS helping them along, we expect great things from them. :) *S* As of November it was decided that Allegiance FZ and AZ would be our primary gaming simulation but news of uncertainity of Allegiance's future has brought us to look at new games. They include Microsoft's Mechwarrior4, Netdevil.Com's Jumpgate and Playnet.Com's WWII Online. Mechwarrior 4 is now in full retail while Jumpgate is in Beta Format and WWIIOnline is expected to be in Open Beta in early 2001. No decisions have been made as of yet to any changes within FS. The Following Changes in Command have been made effective: Rhow107 - Commander of Black Knights Black - Commander of Skull Squadron Kenny23 - Executive Officer of Skull Squadron Sccti - Commader of Ace Five Squadron Terek Kincaid - Executive Officer of Ace Five Squadron Pending Review - Dark Angels Pending Review - Voodoo Scourge Decomission Now through the following week the following people have been promoted: Field Ensign - Cheese and Caliban III Flight Officer - Dream Theater, Full Metal Lt Half Grade - Angels_Friend, Blade, Virus Lt Full Grade - Shadow Quasar, SilverFalcon Master Lt - Synpax, Kenjisasaki Major 1st Class - Kenny23 Sgt Major (SGT of Arms)- Rhow107 Lt Commander - Javan and Terek Kincaid |

| November 2000 | A much awaited patch for Allegiance promised by Microsoft never comes and expectations run high as a re-release of Allegiance is awaited. However in the mean time, certain disruptions by some player an an infamous Yours Persona patch is released for added voice commands. Serious errors abound though which causes many Allegiance games to crash. The main player base starts to dwindle as lack of advertising and support by Microsoft dwindles. | |
| Sunday, Oct 1st 2000 | Promotions Board Although this weeks briefing was primarily about promotions there a few small things of importance first. First and foremost, in order to better guarantee an active Chain of Command, Lt Half Grade Thraxian has been assisnged as XO to Black Knights, under the command of Rear Admiral Bobcat. Congratulations are most definitely in order. Secondly Rear Admiral White Dragon has been officially promoted to Fleet Admiral. Traditionally Fleet Admiral's do not command squads but preside over games and the Fleets of Fatal Shadows, however in this instance at the bequest of a few, Admiral White Dragon will be assuming an 'third hat' so to speak and continue on for the time being as Skull Squadron CO. |
| Early September 2000 | It is talked about and decided that Mechwarrior 3 should be added as a replacement to Jedi Knight as support for that game fails. However FS when goes to Mech3 a dispute over the tag "FS" is made as their is another squad called Federated Suns is made. Nothing is resolved here so we decide to use FS* as a tagline for all Fatal Shadows games. It is also brought to and made known that Mechwarrior 4 is due out for release in December so uncertainity remains on whether or not to incorporate Mech3 throughout the following months. Also FS decides to abandon a FZ league at this time as it can get no support from FZ based teams. | |

| Saturday, Aug 13th 2000 | Afteraction Report The Fleet encountered an element of the Steel Fury squad on Sunday around 2:00 PM EST. What resulted was astounding to High Command and all officers present. In what was supposed to have been a single battle, the Fleet engaged SF actually twice, winning both times. When asked to comment, Captain JudgeStar, Commander of the Shadow Daggers replied, "We met the enemy with equal force and greater skill. I commend the pilots of these encounters above all else." High Command promptly thanked JudgeStar for his excellent performance in commanding the battles. Meanwhile for the previous week's actions High Commanded handed out a few awards to deserving pilots. Among those awarded were: Iron Cross - White Dragon Commander's Cross - Sccti Medal of Marksmenship - Kenny23, and Javan_stc Allegiance MVP - Acjaz Rookie Excellence - Cy72 Distinguished Flying Cross - Acjaz Commander's Cross - Thermal FS Marines formed After the recent crisis of the Divisions, High Command has hereby disvolved the seperation of the Fleet into Divisions. Instead sectors of battle will be divided by Squadron. Voodoo Scourge will be handling Jedi Knight, Mech Warrior III, and Obi-Wan; Black Knights will handle the Free Zone Allegiance, and Ace5, Shadow Daggers, and Skull will be handling the AZ Allegiance. In order to help keep track of this game squadron style a new Branch of ranking is being created. All present recruits will go by FS Navy rankings while those who play the Voodoo Scourge games solely will go by the FS Marine Ranks. Eventually a Primary and Reserve Ranking system will be enacted to show officers who play for both sides. Further information about New ranks will be forthcoming. |

| Saturday, Aug 5th 2000 | Fleet Blackout What appears to have been a temporary but rather long blackout throughout the fleet news network, spanning the past three weeks has abruptly been lifted. In this sudden lull several news features have been transmitted to all ships throughout the Fatal Shadows. First off on July 16th, 2 FS pilots were recognized for the heroic actions in the decisive victory over the GermanBorg. Both JudgeStar and Shiznat were presented four medals between the two. JudgeStar recieved the Commander's Cross, while Shiznat recieved the Captain's Cross, the Iron Cross, and the Allegiance MVP. Honorably mentioned were four other pilots who supported the team rather admirably. In no order the honorable mentions were, Cy72 and Sccti for Base Kills, White Dragon and Minuz for pilot kills. OHG Defeated Later on in the week, the Fleet engaged the OHG, a splinter group of the older TC. While the match was lagged out, the decisive work of FS lead to a victory being recorded in our favor. Had the battle not lagged out it was expected that the Fleet would have been victorious since we had just eliminated the enemies supermacy base just prior to the lag onset. In recognition of this achievment all pilots who participated in this second battle will recieve a special battle ribbion. Job well done. Special Duty Also Joshua_Won a notable pilot among the Allegiance community has created a Persistent Universe for pilots to join factions and become part of a storyline, earning glory for them and their team. This universe however is not squad based so all FS pilots are free to pick a team of their choosing. |

| Sunday, July 9th 2000 | Honor to the Fleet After a two week hold over, the Fleet came together for their usually weekly briefing. The previous week's meeting had been postponned because of an Allegiance Squad-a-thon. However to many the wait appeared to well worthwhile as the High Command honored several pilots with much desevered awards and promotions. In the brief ceremony five new cadets were promoted to Ensign levels along with one Flight Officer and four Lt 2nd Class officers. However later on several officers were given more significan promotions. First of those was Sccti who was promoted to Major 3rd Class. Then in an astonshing move, Bobcat and Hammersong were both promoted to Commander as well asssigned to CO's of Black Knights and Ace5 squadron respectively. High Command's comment to the change of leadership was simply, "With Summer upon us and so many away on leave, it was decided that a dual leadership be set up to ensure constant control of the squads." As to Anthrax and Black the original CO's, "Both are still leaders in their squads. Now however they share this burden with another, making it easier for all envolved." Lastly JudgeStar, XO of Shadow Daggers also recieved a promotion to Commander, briefly outranking his CO White Dragon. However in what was the most astonshing move that evening, Grand Admiral Thermal Meltdown promoted White Dragon to the rank of General. | June/July 2000 | FS decides to Officially retire XVT, XWA it seems that lack of players in these areas have dwindled to where FS shows up near last place or does not qualify to rank in standings. Some opposition is met and a call to arms is made by Talis in order to bolster support but ultimately fails as most of FS is full fledged Allegiance as of now. However JK is still maintained though to fill the gap. | |
| Sunday, June 13th 2000 | Xynatoss Retires Chief Warrant Officer Xynatoss of Skull Squadron officially retired from Fatal Shadows today. | Friday, June 2nd 2000 | Long Overdue Due to an overabundance of work, the Fleet Clerk's office has been overwhelmed recently. However the end is finally done and this long overdue update is on. To begin with, last week's meeting held at Fleet HQ was rather short as many pilots were off on missions. However one business of note was the awarding of the Captain's Cross to Grand Admiral Thermal Meltdown for his work in battle. On a sad note, Major Voltmeter17 has retired from active duty for personal reasons. The Fleet wishes him the best of luck and hopes he will be able to return in time. |

| 9-27-98 | At the weekly FS meeting, it is noted that Macross Fleet wants to join FS. | |
| 9-25-98 | The Weekend of War III officially ends, with FS scoring a considerable 2,156,446 points! | |
| 9-20-98 | The Fatal Shadows Holonet is created. ISAMU is promoted to Field Ensign. Foppa and Vortex take a leave of absence. | |
| 9-18-98 | The Weekend of War III officially begins, with FS flying as a part of the Blue team. | |
| 9-10-98 | ISAMU joins FS. | |
| 9-9-98 | The DJO club leaders vote on the proposal for having the Weekend of War III be a "Red" vs. "Blue", or an ALL vs. ALL war. FS votes for ALL vs. ALL. The "Red" vs. "Blue" measure wins. | |
| 9-6-98 | Shockwave (Jedi68) is promoted to Field Ensign,
StarRyder is promoted to Flight Officer, and Cygnus is
awarded the Admiral's Choice Award. Lucasarts announces the production of the next game in the X-Wing universe, X-Wing Alliance. This game will have multiplayer features, but its focus is on singleplayer and the ability to fly the Millennium Falcon at the Battle of Endor. |
|
| 9-4-98 | The FS Webpage is updated with the addition of the Old History section, which shows all the retired members and the previous fleets and squads. Also, it is learned that ULS will contunie on their own, and will not join FS as a part of the Tarrasque Fleet. | |
| 9-3-98 | The DJO Weekend of War II, TFA vs. ALL, offiicially ends. FS got a total of 1,142,660 points - an impressive first showing. DJO also emails all club leaders to ask their opinion on restructuring the Events and possibly having the next War be a "Red vs. "Blue" event, with clubs divided into either red or blue teams. | |
| 9-2-98 | The Hign Command receives information that a potential league named Operation Nightbird may be created around an RGS-type map. After repeated attempts to contact the people running Operation Nightbird, and give them the RGS rules, nothing is heard from it and it is abandoned. | |
| 8-30-98 | StarRyder is awarded the Medal of Marksmanship at the weekly FS meeting. Astro, Rchicken, and Robotech are promoted to Field Ensign, and Strepto is promoted to Lieutenant 3rd Class. | |
| 8-28-98 | The FS webpage is evaulated by Foppa. All errors are fixed and everything except for the news is updated. | |
| 8-27-98 | The FS roster is rewritten. Retired officers are
removed from active duty. The squads are restructured,
and consideration of incorporating the entire ULS Zone
org into FS as membership in the Tarrasque Fleet is
undertaken also. Foppa undertakes to touch up the FS
webpage, and re-do the biographies. In additon, an
internal FS tournament is considered. DJO begins the Weekend of War II. All clubs registered with the DJO league begin fighting DJO's official squad, TFA. |
|
| 8-24-98 | The FS vs. PHX war officially ends, even though PHX
admitted defeat long before this date. The High Command discusses restructuring the Tarrasque Fleet, and the policy of promoting active people to leadership positions. Also, DJO sends out the official notice that the Weekend of War II will begin on the 27th. |
|
| 8-23-98 | At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, StarRyder is promnoted to Field Ensign, and Paithian is awarded the Admiral's Choice Award. Cygnus is promoted to Lieutenant 1st Class, Slinger is promoted to Major, and Brimstone's promotion to 2nd Admiral is made official. | |
| 8-18-98 | Blackjack and RChicken join FS. | |
| 8-17-98 | The FS vs. PHX Zone war officially begins. | |
| 8-16-98 | Astro joins the Fatal Shadows. While attending Kali chat to talk to Xizor, Kelannar's computer is hacked into by Reptile and Potato with the Back Orifice virus. All the information in Kelannar's PC, including top secret FS info, is exposed and subject to violation. Xizor and Draconious help to fix this problem, but Kelannar was unable to attend the weekly FS meeting, and was forced to upgrade to Windows 98 as a result. The FBI is contacted over this piracy, but no charges were pressed because it would take too much effort. At the Fatal Shadows Meeting on the Zone, Brimstone informs the members about the FS/PHX war, and the rules are emailed to everyone. |
|
| 8-15-98 | The Fatal Shadows Database is entered into the DJO
League. War Activation and Registration begins, with all
members officially registering on DJO. Brimstone begins discussions with the Zone org PHX to get an official war started. |
|
| 8-9-98 | At the weekly meeting of FS on Kali, the Zone policy
is presented and debated. A vote is taken over the issue,
and it is decidedly in favor of moving to the Zone. Snake
Eyes resigns his position as 2nd Admiral in good faith,
because of his conflict with TFA. All FS members are
asked to download and install the Zone software. Afterwards, at a meeting of the High Command, Brimstone is unofficially promoted to the posotion of 2nd Admiral. This was done in secrecy to promote stability on the transition to the Zone. |
|
| 8-8-98 | In a discussion with the Senior Officers, it is noted that many are in full support of moving FS to the Zone, though Foppa is decidedly against it, Snake is against it because of his conflicxt, and Kurse has reservations. | |
| 8-7-98 | At a High Command Council, Kelannar seriously
considers moving FS to the Zone. This was considered
because of the end of RGS and the lack of gameplay on
Kali. Snake Eyes notes that he has a conflict of
interest, because has been in the Tie Fighter Alliance
since Feburary 1998. TFA is the DJO league's sponsored
squadron on the Zone. Snake suggests having FS become a
part of TFA, or join up with the Zone org ULS (from which
many FS pilots have come from). The problem of dual
memberships in Zone and Kali orgs creates conflict among
certain members in FS. Kelannar refuses to abandon FS to
incorporate into another org, and decides to move FS to
the zone entirely, in order to avoid the slow decay of FS
as a result of staying on Kali. Kelannar is introduced to Hero and Hero accepts FS as part of the DJO league. FS "unofficially" moves to the Zone as a result. Hero is briefed on the RGS league and the demise of Kali. |
|
| 8-6-98 | Light shuts down the RGS league, and deletes the files from the server, citing disinterest. However, he continues to run the Starcraft league, and Starcraft continues to permeate the discussion on the Kali XvT server, and XvT seems out of style on Kali. | |
| 8-5-98 | Cygnus fowards to the high Command the activities of the Dark Jedi Organization, a Zone XvT League that runs Weekend of War matches. This situation is studied by the Grand Admiral. | |
| 8-3-98 | MOK>()rion sends a general email to all RGS COs saying that the league has not sent any responces to his emails. Light responds saying that only 5 orgs are in RGS and more are needed. | |
| 7-26-98 | Foppa helps to re-organize FS ship positions on RGS. At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, the ship strategy for RGS is outlined. Afterwards, at a Senior Officer meeting, the RK squad is discussed, but no conclusion can be made over who should lead it, because of internal Tarrasque Fleet complications. | |
| 7-20-98 | RGS sends out the black database forms for the repositioning of ships. | |
| 7-19-98 | Dragon poses as a newbie and tries to re-join FS. It
becomes FS policy to ignore Dragon in Kali chat. At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, the Voodo Scourge Squadron is created to replace the defunct Shadow Warrior squadron. Brimstone heads the squadron. StarRyder is officially inducted into FS, and it becomes FS policy to wear the COMPLETE FS uniform at all times. Finally, the FS internal ladder is reset to use points instead of kills, and Cygnus is promoted to Flight Officer. |
|
| 7-16-98 | StarRyder joins FS. In addition, the Internet Gaming Zone is examined for the first time as a possible place to fly FS missions. | |
| 7-15-98 | Dragon slanders FS officer Strepto in public chat. For this, Kelannar vows to get him thrown off Kali. | |
| 7-14-98 | Light suggests a general restart for RGS. At an unofficial meeting that night, this proposal is debated amongst the organization leaders and it is rejected. Repositioning of ships, however, would take place. | |
| 7-12-98 | Thermal of Macross Fleet suggests that multiple voluenteer admins will be able to handle some RGS activity. | |
| 7-10-98 | Dragon and Potato say they will not return to Kali's XvT server. Light begins looking for a new co-admin for RGS. | |
| 7-9-98 | Potato quits as RGS administrator, after SC left. Light assumes the responsibility of restructuring the database again. | |
| 7-8-98 | Xizor withdraws SC from RGS, citing lack of activity. RGS pays all orgs their monthly income also. | |
| 7-7-98 | BSF retreats from Courscant (N2) - as they were overwhelmed by the force and size of the Fatal Shadows Fleet. | |
| 7-6-98 | According to the new activity rule, Flagship Independence and WSE are deleted from RGS. | |
| 7-5-98 | Foppa is officially made Commander of the Tarrasque Fleet. This promotion was very overdue, since he had been doing much of the work for months. | |
| 7-3-98 | Potato suspends work on RGS activity for a while because of personal reasons. It remains suspended until the 6th. | |
| 7-1-98 | The Fatal Shadows sends a GIGANTIC fleet to Courscant (N2), which is owned by BSF. This fleet is led by the Fatal Shadows supreme flagship - the Super Star Destroyer Nazgul. | |
| 6-29-98 | The Shadow Raiders, a new unit that had not even begun play, is disbanded. Also, Cygnus joins the Fatal Shadows. | |
| 6-26-98 | Coruscant (N2) is taken by BSF.
(N8) is taken by Fatal Shadows and N9 by Crimson Nova. Potato creates a new rule on RGS: All units must show some kind of monthly activity or they will be disbanded. |
|
| 6-25-98 | After a long absence, Slick returns to the Fatal Shadows. | |
| 6-24-98 | Macross Fleet was defeated in their counterattack
against ES at Damogran (W86). A new organization, WSE -
Wraith Squadron Elite, joins RGS. Potato finally gains access to the RGS site - but he has a lot of movements to make up and information is scrambled, so delays begin to amass. Kelannar posts a message on the holonet reflecting concerns over submittions. To update the Fatal Shadows information, Kelannar sends Potato the FS database. At this time also, a MAJOR update is made to the Fatal Shadows roster. Several people are promoted, and others are dropped from the ranks. |
|
| 6-21-98 | Chaos21 and MercKat join the Fatal Shadows. | |
| 6-19-98 | Potato (Zeljin) is appointed co-administrator of RGS. With Potato's resignation from KJ, the unit is disbanded. It was later learned from Vornskr that Dragon had bankrupted KJ and it was in trouble, and also Dragon had personal issues to deal with. Dragon joined JC, and Vornskr joined CN. All of KJ's prior planets go to unowned status. | |
| 6-18-98 | RGS is threatened with a lawsuit by JM_Rabidness, who
says he has an XvT league similar to RGS and that RGS was
copied from it. Light responds with rapid justice to
these ludicris claims, and quickly humbles JM_Rabid into
admitting that perhaps his claim and threat was simply
without any foundation. Kurse, longtime Admiral of the
Fatal Shadows, sent a mail to Lucasarts and ILM about
JM_Rabid's claim to copyrights. Lucasarts actually
responded and said they would investigate the matter.
Faced with this, JM_Rabid quickly apologized. Light pauses RGS for three days. He begins searching for a co-administrator for RGS. |
|
| 6-17-98 | CN threatens to attack FS in public chat, because FS had captured some of DI's former planets in the S2 sector. However, this matter was resolved because it was a misunderstanding, and CN>MOK()rion posts a full apology to the Fatal Shadows on the Holonet. | |
| 6-13-98 | Emperor's Squadron captures Damogran (W86), from Macross Fleet. AWR retreats from Solaest (E86), G'rho (E70), and Togoria (E73) after SC attacked. | |
| 6-14-98 | Battle-Dog, CO of ARF, resigns, as does his XO, Candon. Cricket and DarkNova are appointd new leaders of ARF. | |
| 6-10-98 | KJ attacks BSF's shipard planet a N30. BSF
counterattacks with a considerable force - over 176 of
BSF's ships are locked in battle in over 5 planets.
Potato (Zeljin) leads KJ, since Dragon has been absent
for some time. After exactly one month, RGS allows the purchase of capital ships again, saying that manufacturers had a chance to catch up to the demand. |
|
| 6-8-98 | SC successfully captures the planet Selonia (E4) that
DI owned. CN defeats DI at Kuat. After this latest defeat, DI is disbanded. They claimed they were not aware of the rules and retreat options, and left RGS in anger. The former planets of DI in the S2 sector are unclaimed. |
|
| 6-7-98 | After considerable debate over Rules 3.0, Light revises them to v3.01. They are posted on RGS. | |
| 6-3-98 | Rules 3.0 are posted. They involved fixing several bugs in the rules, as well as changes to beam weapon technology and the price for a SSD. With rules 3.0, organizations get 2 free Platforms and Ion cannons also. | |
| 6-1-98 | RGS announces the results of the Galactic Olymiad.
AWR sweeps the GO - winning first place in all of the
five events. SC is chosen as the host of the new GO. GoF is disbanded, even before they started play. The members either quit or moved into Macross Fleet. A new Imperial unit also joins RGS - Emperor's Squadron. |
|
| 5-31-98 | RGS pays all units. Zeljin of KJ begins helping Light do some administrative tasks for RGS, but is allowed to remain in KJ since he has no way of cheating. At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, Foppa is promoted to Commander. | |
| 5-30-98 | The Jedi Collective, an old Rim org, joins RGS. JC is led by Sephiroth. | |
| 5-26-98 | Avenger of the former Wraith Squadron posts an idea for a Merchant Class. However, the idea receives little support. | |
| 5-25-98 | Light asks all COs to read over the rules so that the
bugs can be worked out and an updated Rules 3.0 can be
put into effect. ARF captures the WS planets of Yavin (N52), Kalla (N50) and Bonadan (N48). As a result of this, and their prior defeats, Wraith Squadron is forced to quit RGS. They had suffered great defeats and loss of ships at the hands of their large war with ARF, and had no choice but to engage in this final retreat. FI successfully attacks ARF at Lazerian (N56). The breakup of Wraith Squadron produces two new units: Macross Fleet, and Guardians of the Force. Thermal and Avenger lead MF, and Thrawn leads GoF. |
|
| 5-24-98 | At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, Brimstone and Slinger are promoted to Lt. 3rd Class. Liberated and Vortex are promoted to Flight Officer. This was due to their activity in the Galactic Olympiad. | |
| 5-21-98 | RGS is moved from Geocities to the Xoom servers. This
greatly speeds up the download time. DI retreats from CN's attack at Bilbringi (S18). Adversary Recon Force captured the Wraith Squadron planets at Vengler (N51), Saheelindeel (N57) and Kerideph (N59). |
|
| 5-18-98 | ARF retreats from Kalla (N50) after WS attacked them
with their newly purchased fleet. In addition, ARF loses
all their fighters in a retreat attempt from Bespin (N37).
Without any battle being fought, KJ hands over 3 northern planets, Ord Trasi (N30), Tirahnn (N32), and Deneba (N29) to BSF. One of these planets had an income of 101 and was a shipyard. It is rumored that KJ failed to respond to BSF's attacks, so BSF won these planets by default. |
|
| 5-13-98 | The fleet at N38 is moved to capture the new frontier
planets in the West. Wraith Squadron, as of this point, has 6 attacks locked in battle: N43 Venna, N48 Bonadon, N50 Kalla, N51 Vengler, N52 Yavin, N56 Lianna, N57 Saheelindeal, and N59 Karideph. The "coalition" plans further attacks on ARF planets at N45 Galvoni III. N46 Lazerian, N47 Orron III, and N49 Rudrig. |
|
| 5-12-98 | Wraith Squadron retreats from N50 Kalla. The "coalition"
holds another meeting to plan future attacks on ARF. Rapid Assault, an old Rim org, joins RGS. |
|
| 5-11-98 | Flagship Independence, a Rebel unit that was very
inactive, allies with Wraith Squadron against ARF. They
create a "coalition" consisting of WS, FI, DI,
BSF, and AWR to attack ARF. The Fatal Shadows is asked to
be a member of this coalition. FS is interested in
attacking ARF but declines any formal alliances. DI is attacked by CN. The attack is at DI's central planet. The "coalition" advises DI to retreat from the north in a slow withdrawl. |
|
| 5-10-98 | Following the suggestion of Kelannar, RGS creates the
Galactic Olympiad submittions page, so individuals can
easily submit GO results to RGS. In addition, the map of
the universe is greatly expanded to hold an attitional
160 planets. Four new outer sectors are added to the map.
This was done because two new organizations, AWR and BS,
decided to join RGS. These two organizations were the
same AWR and BS that were on the Rim. With the arrival of
these units to RGS, it is learned that the Rim is shut
down for good. RGS suspends purchases of capital ships, saying a major supplier has been attacked. Wraith Squadron sells a VSD to the Fatal Shadows for an incredibly discounted price. This allows WS to purchase a massive fleet to attack Sluis Van. The Fatal Shadows moves a large fleet to Derra 4 (N38) - next to the ARF/WS battlegrounds. |
|
| 5-9-98 | DI is chosen as the host of the new Galactic Olympiad. | |
| 5-8-98 | In a massive battle, WS loses Bespin (N37) to ARF. A WS recon mission at Venna (N43) is also defeated. | |
| 5-3-98 | A new Pirate unit joins RGS, Damage Incorporated. DI
is placed in the S2 sector where MA was. The first Galactic Olympiad results are posted. The only winners were ARF and SC. The GO rules are updated so that they can be spontaneous and played until the end of the month. |
|
| 5-2-98 | The Mercenary Alliance quits RGS. MA had been attacked by CN, and had suffered problems in its leadership. The S2 sector is abandoned, and all prior MA holdings are now unowned. WS also loses Vogel 7 (N22) to SC. | |
| 5-1-98 | Wraith Squadron writes the "Treaty of the United Organization of Galaxies," in an attempt to unite several organizations against ARF. | |
| 4-25-98 | Wraith Squadron's capital planet, Venna (N43) is captured by ARF. Also, WS loses Pho Ph'eah (N21) to SC. | |
| 4-21-98 | ARF re-conquers Kaal (E15) from WS. | |
| 4-19-98 | Kurse and Slick officially change the name of the Dark Dragon squad to the Shadow Warrior squad. | |
| 4-17-98 | CN, host of the Galactic Olympiad, allows every member of every org to participate in the events. This came as a result of prior rules which forced assignments to be made to the GO - and no one would fly as a result. While this does not do too much to increase participation, it lays the groundwork for a later change in the rules. | |
| 4-16-98 | KJ defeats WS at Ord Trasi, N30, destroying the sole A-Wing defense. ARF defeats MA's attack in the East as well. | |
| 4-14-98 | RGS incorporated Balance of Power and Platforms. Light sends out an updated blank spreadsheet as a result of these new changes. He allows units a free platform as well. | |
| 4-12-98 | At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, Admiral Kurse of the Dagger Fleet is awarded the Medal of Honor - the only individual in FSto have ever received this award. This is a result of the timeless effort Kurse has put into this organization, and could not begin to represent his abilities as a leader and officer. Also, the Medal of Marksmanship is awarded to Vortex, for showing the most consistent level of improvement in skill through the internal FS ladder. At this meeting also, Scalpel, an old member of FI, joins the Fatal Shadows. | |
| 4-11-98 | Zeljin (Potato) convinces Dragon to post a message on the RGS holnet. Dragon posts a public apology on RGS, for acting "like a jerk" towards FS and all the others on RGS. | |
| 4-10-98 | Damien finishes his report on the income levels of all units on RGS. This report is presented to Kelannar. | |
| 4-9-98 | Larry Holland chats with XvT gamers on the Zone.
Draconious publicly thrashes Lucasarts for what he notes
as immoral marketing and consumer practices. It was funny
as hell. Intelligence information reports that KJ is becoming politicially isolated on RGS as a result of Dragon's tactics. |
|
| 4-8-98 | Avenger, Thermal, and Kilmer of WS discuss plans
against ARF. It is revealed here that WS and ARF have had
over 15 engagements on RGS - the longest running war yet.
Also, it is revealed that WS is nearly bankrupt. Avenger
plans to attack ARF en masse in a desperate attempt to
funally remove them from the North. KJ attacks WS at Ord Trasi (N30). Thermal of WS posts the private chats between Dragon, Thermal, and Avenger from 4-1-98. In these chats, Dragon had attempted to extort Wraith Squadron: "this is an Ultimatum - make an offer of money - if we like it, we don't attack." These chats circulate among the members of RGS. |
|
| 4-7-98 | Admiral Kurse informs FS that he is going to be a father! Congratulations, Kurse! | |
| 4-6-98 | Avenger of WS sends a message to the CO/XO list, suggesting several improvements to RGS as a result of their expierence in fighting a lengthy battle with ARF. These suggestions are designed to prevent future complaints in large-scale battles. Over time, through email various COs and XOs respond to this message with their own thoughts. | |
| 4-5-98 | Thermal Meltdown, XO of WS, writes the "Disertation
of Wraith Squadron." In this, he states that he
believes that Wraith Squadron has received many false
accusations that have destroyed the original purpose for
playing on RGS, and that the only thing keeping him
involved right now is the people in WS. The Disertation
of Wraith Squadron is posted on the Holonet and is also
publicaly handed out in Kali. Dragon attacks Thermal and all of WS as being hypocritical, and blasts them for posting morale boosters on WS's own message board. A public argument in Kali between Dragon emerges vs. Kelannar, Vornskr of KJ (Dragon's own partner), and Thermal of WS - over whether people are free to say what they want to boost their own morale. Dragon posts on KJ's holonet that he has declared war on KJ because of their supposed "unsportsmanlike" behavior. Kelannar posts a message on the RGS holonet saying that morale boosters are perfectly legitimate and that RGS isn't supposed to be in the business of policing speech. At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, it is suggested that the Dark Dragon squadron be renamed. Ideas are passed around for a new name. |
|
| 4-4-98 | Avenger, CO of Wraith Squadron, tells Kelannar that
WS is going to quit RGS because of the many accusations
and complaints that have erputed as a result of their
defense of the north. These complains involve cheating,
lying, and other slanderous accusations. WS was fined 100
million for a comment made on their own message board. The Fatal Shadows successfully raids ARF's planet Stic (E19), with Paithian and Liberated flying for FS. Again, the victory was a total success. |
|
| 4-2-98 | In responce to Dragon's threats, UMG quits RGS. RGS confirms that UMG transfered beam tech to FS before quitting the league. | |
| 4-1-98 | RGS pays all units. The Galactic Olympiad officially
begins, with CN hosting the games. Intelligence information from Foppa reveals that Aero, CO of UMG, is on his last legs. Defender, the old CO, had already quit UMG and was going to form a new XvT org, but dropped out of RGS. Already weakened from constant attacks by MA from the past month, FS sends a strike fleet to deal the death blow to UMG at Corellia (E3). In an incredible political and intelligence manuver by Foppa, Kelannar, and Snake Eyes, UMG agrees to give the BEAM WEAPON technology they acquired months ago, to FS, with the promise that UMG would not be destroyed. Corellia is also captured by FS, and UMG signs a non-agression pact with FS. Thus, did the Fatal Shadows acquire Imperial beam technology, its greatest intelligence coup to date. Strepto and Vortex fly the first raid against ARF. Berri is successfully raided and ARF loses its garrison. Dragon of KJ threatens to attack WS, acting as partners of ARF, unless paid off. Somehow, Thermal of WS convinces him otherwise. Dragon threatens UMG: 500 million a month or be attacked. |
|
| 3-31-98 | Slick of FS considers joining KJ. It is unknown whether Dragon asked him to join. Eventually, Slick decides to remain with FS. Dragon again warns FS that KJ might, for a price, be forced to protect FS, but also that KJ is in high demand and that nothing can be taken for granted. The exact meaning of this strange wording is clearly apparent to Kelannar: extortion. FS ignores KJ's threats, and Kelannar sends out an apology to those who he thought might have been unfairly labeled in any prior email about Dragon. FS members will always remain loyal to those in the organization above outsiders under any costs. | |
| 3-30-98 | Public confrontation again erupts in Kali chat between Dragon and members of FS. Kelannar issues a warning that this public chat may have political consequences, but FS Admirals and members also say that there are personal issues involved as well. | |
| 3-29-98 | Public chat in Kali continues to provoke tension
among Dragon of KJ and FS members. Vornskr, of KJ,
however, is amicable and continues to provide FS with
informaiton. Thus, relations with KJ are both friendly
and tenuous - a strange dynamic. At the weekly meeting of the Fatal Shadows, Dragon shows up and says he has important info for FS, that certain orgs wish to attack FS, and that his mercenary services of KJ might be necessary. He then quickly leaves. The password for all future FS meetings is changed. Vortex is promoted to Field Ensign, Brimstone, Slinger, and Strepto are promoted to Flight Officer. Damien, wishing to be demoted, is promoted to Lt. 3rd Class. Nukemall is also promoted to Lt 3rd Class. Finally, Foppa, for his excellent intelligence information and reliability, is promoted to Lt. Commander. Effective this date as well, Slick assumes command of the Dark Dragon Squadron. Finally, for being the most active in the ladder, Brimstone and Slinger both receive the Admiral's Choice award. Vornskr of KJ confirms that there was a rumor to unite against FS, but no action was taken. Intelligence reports continue to amass. ARF is also sent the raid missions for FS as well. Finally, the second part of FS's dual fleet raiding ARF space is sent to Stic (E19). This fleet consists of a Strike Cruiser and 10 T/A, and again is only up against 1 T/A. ARF's defenses are thus drained because of their attacks on WS. |
|
| 3-27-98 | Kelannar helps Battle-Dog of ARF fix 2 of the
missions with WS. At an "unofficial" meeting of COs, discussion is made over the future Galactic Olympiad rules. Many agree that they should be slightly clarified. Vornskr, MOK()tion, Xizor, Battle-Dog, Kelannar, Aeropagitica, and finally, Light, talk about the new additions to the league that will begin next month. This is in responce to the challenge from the RIM. All agree to promote RGS and advertize it in public. |
|
| 3-26-98 | Wraith Squadron counterattacks ARF at Sluis Van (N53), and also at Toola, and plans 5 other attacks on planets like Kaal (E15), Rudrig (N49), Drukenwell (N58), and Venna (N43). Also, WS battles SC at Kamaar (N26). Wraith Squadron's battles become so involved that it is hard to keep track of who is attacking and defending. At this point, recordkeeping the battles between ARF and Wraith Squadron (already a lengthy procedure filled with some gaps) becomes confused. (Hopefully I will be able to get the facts at some point in time. Please email me if you would like to contribute). | |
| 3-25-98 | The RIM becomes public. CN>MOK()rion and Kelannar
publically promote RGS in responce. The Jedi Collective
and ARF join the Rim, but no play can take place because
it does not have a map. Only the holonet works. At a Fatal Shadows Officer's meeting, the roster is re-written, and reorganization is taken to make training easier. Also, discussion is made about Dragon leaving FS, and the decision is made to not question why he left. |
|
| 3-24-98 | RGS admits a new organization: The Keepers of
Justice, led by Dragon and Zeljin (Potato). Foppa
continues to do intelligence work for FS, providing
information on UMG. The Fatal Shadows sends in the first of a dual fleet to raid the ARF planets of Berri (E18) and Stic (E19). The Strike Cruiser to Berri carries 10 XWs, and is up against only 1 T/A. This fleet was sent because ARF was busy with WS in the North, and their Eastern possessions were lightly defended and ripe for the picking. Also, WS needed FS help against ARF and this was an indirect way to do that. |
|
| 3-23-98 | Sephiroth, the new CO of MA, strikes ARF in their
home sector, E2. Foppa, intelligence officer of the Fatal Shadows, gains information that Dragon wants to quit FS and start his own "cop org" on RGS - the Keepers of Justice. This information is not taken without offence by some in FS. |
|
| 3-21-98 | In two very lengthy and gigantic fleet battles, ARF
is defeated in its offensive attack at Venna. WS loses 36
fighters, but ARF loses 20 T/A, 5 TI, 5 Gun, and a CUV.
At the second battle, WS loses Lianna to ARF. FS defeats BSF at Godo, recapturing the planet. Kelannar, Brimstone, and Slinger flew for the Fatal Shadows - and destroyed every BSF fighter while also disabling and capturing their Strike Cruiser. Finally, the RGS page is updated to reflect the inclusion of the Galactic Olympiad. |
|
| 3-20-98 | UMG is fined 100 million as a result of a grievance
filed against them. MA continues to attack UMG, and also
CN continues to attack MA. Elladan of CN and Kelannar discuss basic mission creation policy to help avoid more grievances between WS and ARF. They standardize mission creation and fix several of the missions between ARF and WS. |
|
| 3-19-98 | Reptile quits as CO of MA, and Sephiroth assumes
command. But, there are many internal problems in MA and
the internal command structure is weakened. Vornskr
resigns from MA as well. FS tries to fly the battle with BSF, but Snake Eyes, Kurse, and Brimstone are unable to fly because of the large amount of lag from the BSF pilots. The mission is rescheduled. |
|
| 3-18-98 | Vornskr wins the RGS Logo contest. MA gets a free planet as a result. | |
| 3-15-98 | At a meeting of the Outbound Flight File Zone, a
large organization collecting XvT missions, Kelannar
proposes adding RGS missions to the registered list -
creating an "RGS Missions Pack." This proposal
is posted on the holonet, but eventually loses support
because of the large # of missions and the difficulty of
keeping track of them, and also due to CN>MOK()rion's
concern about security of the information in the missions.
(I still support the idea, however) Battle-Dog of ARF is elected the chairman of the GAB. He handles email among its members, but has no more power than the others in voting on grievance policy. At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, a new medal - the MEDAL OF MARKSMANSHIP - is created to reflect the pilot who has most improved his skills as a result of the internal FS Ladder. Vortex joins the Fatal Shadows, MrJim is promoted to Lt. 3rd Class, and Brimstone and Slinger are promoted to Field Ensign. Nukemall is promoted to Flight Officer, and Slick is promoted to Lt. 1st Class. |
|
| 3-13-98 | ARF attacks WS's planets at Lianna and Venna, using
its large offensive fleet. SC attacks WS at Dagobah. CN
continues to attack MA in the S2 sector. The Fatal Shadows immediately responds to BSF's unfounded agression, sending in its Flagship, the Killex One, to Godo to recapture the planet and take BSF's Strike Cruiser as booty. Also, because ARF has a large fleet attacking WS in the north, Kelannar and Snake Eyes plan a surprise attack on ARF's home space to |
|
| 3-12-98 | BSF successfully captures the FS planet Godo (W18).
Snake Eyes and Kurse flew valiantly for FS, but was
outgunned by BSF's missiles. After a suggestion from Kelannar, Light proposes a Logo Contest for RGS so that RGS will have its own logo. Also, voting among the COs begins on the chairmanship for the Galactic Advisory Board, who will handle email amongst its members. ARF attacks Wraith Squadron with a GIGANTIC FLEET, in its contest for control of the North. WS retreats from Sluis Van, allowing ARF to capture the shipyards as well as several WS capital ships. |
|
| 3-11-98 | At a meeting of all the org CO's on RGS, Light discusses several new changes that will be implemented as a responce to the Rim's competition as a result of suggestions from Kelannar and others. A Galactic Olympiad is proposed, and the Galactic Advisory Board is set up to deal with complaints. Platforms are proposed also, to be added as a new purchase in the Shipyards. | |
| 3-9-98 | The RIM makes an attempt to return as an XvT League.
FS boycotts the return of the Rim, and other RGS orgs
support Light. The Rim has ARF and JC join though, but
activity is impossible since its map is not up and it has
not officially begin play. At this time also, FS institutes its internal ladder, and begins keeping score. |
|
| 3-8-98 | The Tarrasque Fleet, in ARF space, successfully raids
the planet Kaal (E15). Foppa flew for the Katana Avenger
squad and MrJim flew for the Red Knights. Tarrasque Fleet
had 1 Strike Cruiser and 10 T/A. ARF had 3 T/A, 1 AW, 1
XW, and a Strike Cruiser. Foppa flew the bombing run to
reduce the shields on the ARF Cruiser so the FS Cruiser
Midnight could disable it, while MrJim flew cover. MrJim
took out 2 T/A, while Foppa pounded the cruiser
relentlessly to reduce its shields. Then, both of them
took out the X-Wing and A-Wing, and Foppa got the last T/A.
The Midnight managed to disable the ARF Cruiser - and it
was captured. This mission was a resounding victory for
the Tarrasque Fleet and the Fatal Shadows!!! Lar shows up on Kali. The fight between RGS and the RIM becomes public, and people begin to take sides. At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, the members unanimously declare their support of RGS over the RIM. Dragon appears at this meeting for the last time before leaving for his school. |
|
| 3-6-98 | CN attacks MA at S9, Fornax. Foppa completes work on his Fatal Shadows Biographies page, and begins adding biographies of all FS pilots. |
|
| 3-5-98 | MA attacks UMG at Umgul (E1). The Mercenary Alliance wins the mission, but UMG files a grievance against them, saying that their pilots were dropped during the mission. | |
| 3-4-98 | Dragon leaves for school. It is undetermined how
active he will be, if at all. The Seargent at Arms
position is retained by him for the time being. Around
this time also, ARF changes from Pirate to Imperial - but
this does not affect their future mission with FS,
because the raid was made when they were still pirates.
ARF abandonds W25 and W20, and returns to the East. FS
claims the planets. Finally, rumors abound that the RIM is making a comeback. No one can be certain of the truth of the rumors at this point. |
|
| 3-3-98 | MA attacks UMG at Tralus (E7). UMG loses another Victory Star Destroyer, and also a Strike Cruiser, Corvette, and Combat Utility Vehicle. MA wins a resounding victory. | |
| 3-2-98 | The Brazilian Strike Force comes out of hyperspace at
the FS planet Godo (W18). They plan to attack and capture
the planet. The BSF has 2 XW and 2 AW, supported by a
Strike Cruiser. Two new recruits join FS: Brimstone and Slinger, recommended by Admiral Kurse. |
|
| 3-1-98 | RGS pays the first monthly balance to all organizations. | |
| 2-28-98 | ARF successfully raids FS space at Sirpar (W22). Kurse, Kelannar, and Cherokee flew for FS. ARF lost 5 T/A, and FS lost 5 T/A and 1 XW and 1 Z95. The Frigate Kurgan One and the CUV Prowl II was not attacked by ARF at all... for some strange reason. | |
| 2-25-98 | The Tarrasque Fleet exits hyperspace at Kaal (E15), in ARF space. They are raiding the planet with 10 T/A and a Strike Cruiser. Kaal is defended by a Strike Cruiser, 1 XW, 1 AW, and 3 T/A. | |
| 2-24-98 | UMG attacks the MA planet Umgul located at E4. They bring in a large strike force consisting of 6 XW, 6 T/A, 8 Gunboats, and 4 TF, supported by a VSD, a Corvette, and a Strike Cruiser. MA has 10 T/A, 5 AW, and 5 Gunboats, and a Nebulon B Frigate. The entire UMG strike force is destroyed, except for the Victory Star Destroyer, which MA manages to capture. | |
| 2-23-98 | RGS says that a downed Imperial Pilot has been stranded in space with his Beam Technology. The Org who gets the planet with the Pilot first also gets the beam technology. Imperial Orgs are the only units with beam weapons to this point. | |
| 2-21-98 | Due to the confusion over the battle rules (all of section 7) on RGS - Kelannar re-writes the battle rules. He receives help from Xizor and Potato, and the new proposed rules spread rapidly to all the COs of organizations on RGS. Unit leaders sign onto the new proposed rules in full support of them. These new rules would eliminate the confusion of the RGS battle rules by requiring custom missions for nearly all battles. At the end of the day they are presented to Light with the signatures of most of the COs, and he approves them. They go into effect immediately. | |
| 2-20-98 | Adversary Recon Forces raids Wraith Squadron at Bonadon (N48). In the mission, WS defeats ARF, but a large debate ensued over the rules of the mission according to what was written at RGS. Battle-Dog of ARF and MrV of WS meet with all the other COs of the organizations on RGS to debate this issue. The COs agree with WS, in that only one battle had to be fought per mission. Light is contacted, and he agrees with ARF. This creates great distress among organization leaders who unanimously thought that the WS interpretation was correct. | |
| 2-19-98 | UMG's planet Corellia is raided for the 2nd time, this time by MA. The Mercenary Alliance wins the battle. CN attacks MA at Vorzyd (S7), and MA loses the planet. ARF sends a strike force to Fatal Shadows space at W22 to raid the planet Sirpar. In responce, the Tarrasque Fleet is sent to ARF space to raid the planet Kaal (E15). | |
| 2-17-98 | RGS changes the rules on raids so that the excessive amount of money that FS was awarded cannot be achieved ever again. At this time also, Foppa creates his homepage and adds the FS Biographies section. | |
| 2-15-98 | Dragon receives the Medal of Valor, and Foppa receives the Admiral's Choice award. Paithian is promoted to Major 2nd, Foppa to Major. Damien and MrJim are promoted to Flight Officer, and Nukemall, Flyguy, Mayday, Liberated, Black10, Saint, and Frosaber are promoted to Field Ensign. | |
| 2-14-98 | The first XvT League Custom Mission in MONTHS is flown, representing the FS raid on the United Merchant Guild's planet Corellia (E3). Dragon and Slick flew for the Fatal Shadows, and Aero and Spiff flew for UMG. The strike force consisted of 6 Tie Advanceds, 4 XWs, the Strike Cruiser Midnight, and the Combat Utility Vehicle Prowl, and UMG's defense was only two X-Wings. Dragon lead the Tie Advanced Squadron of the Dark Dragons, and Slick led the X-wing Red Knights. The battle was over in 51 seconds. Dragon killed Spiff with 2 missiles and lasers, and Aero was destroyed by Slick's gunfire. As a result of this successful raid, the Fatal Shadows received 990 million credits, nearly the highest possible ammount that a raid could allow. | |
| 2-12-98 | JediNoli, a new recruit, publicly insults FS and plans on quitting. Seargent at Arms Dragon receives permission from Snake Eyes to Court-martial JediNoli. Dragon does this, and JediNoli is found guilty. He is purged from the ranks and joins up with the new RGS organization, Adversary Recon Force. At this time also, the secret Strike Force arrives at Corellia, and plans are made for a raid. Kelannar makes the custom mission. | |
| 2-10-98 | CN attacks another one of MA's planets, Stronghold at S28. CN takes the planet and controls the entire S3 Sector. | |
| 2-9-98 | Seargent at Arms Dragon begins evaluating all active FS members for the possible raid, using the RGS Test Missions. Dragon's evaluations help to determine who is ready for combat duty. Grand Admiral Kelannar orders that a special strike force consisting of the Dark Dragons and the Red Knights moves East towards Corellia, loacted at E3, in the E1 sector. Also, at this time FS signs a nonagression pact with SC. | |
| 2-8-98 | A major update to the roster is undertaken. Those failing to respond are eliminated from the list, and new spots open up. At this time also, plans are made to raid another organization, and so RGS Test Missions are added to the FS Mission Pack to train pilots in scenarios that are likely to happen on RGS. | |
| 2-4-98 | CN attacks one of MA's planets (Trinta, at S38) in the far Southern quadrant (S3). MA loses one X-Wing and Crimson Nova captures the planet. | |
| 2-3-98 | Due to concern over the battle-rules in the RGS League, Light plans a meeting to vote on several proposed changes. However, at the last minute he is unable to attend, so Kelannar is asked to fill in for him, taking the vote and noting any proposed changes that are expressed. As a result of this meeting, the battle rules are updated significantly to allow for better custom missions and options of the XvT game. | |
| 2-2-98 | Grand Admiral Kelannar allies the Fatal Shadows with the Mercenary Alliance, which is comprised of most of the old AWR and JC orgs that existed on the Rim. A nonagression pact is also signed with Crimson Nova. At this time, additional ships are added to both the Dagger and Tarrasque Fleets. | |
| 2-1-98 | The RGS Page goes active, after the planet-grab phase is complete. At the same time also, Kurse quits as RGS administrator and re-joins up with FS as an advisor to Grand Admiral. He assumes control of the Dagger Fleet and is given the task of re-building the Shadow Dagger Squadron. Light is the sole administrator of RGS. | |
| 1-21-98 | The Fatal Shadows purchases its fleet, and planet claiming begins on RGS. | |
| 1-15-98 | This web page was finally updated since 10-30-97, and the roster was updated to reflect the 5 new members of the Fatal Shadows. Further updates will continue reflecting the restructuring of FS due to the leadership change and new League to fly on. | |
| 1-13-98 | Talon Kaarde (his name now changed to Kurse) - announces that he has set up a new league named the Race for Galactic Supremacy and that will be its administrator along with his friend, Light. The Fatal Shadows is the first to join the league. New recruits are admitted into FS as well: Flyguy, MrJim, SlickDaddy, Bobslonda, and Mayday. With these new members, the Fatal Shadows again becomes the largest org on Kali's XvT server. Talon (Kurse) also finishes the transition of power, and he gives the Medal of Courage to Kelannar, the Medal of Valor to Snake Eyes, Nightwolf, and Paithian, and the Admiral's Choice Award to Dragon. | |
| 1-12-98 | Stormgod, organizer of the Kali Expeditionary Force, plans to find the best 13 pilots on Kali and have them fight against the best 13 pilots on the Internet Gaming Zone. Dragon is named among the 13 of the KEF. | |
| 1-11-98 | Talon Kaarde announces that he is retiring from the Fatal Shadows. Chaos retires as 2nd in command. Kelannar is appointed the new Grand Admiral, with Snake Eyes as 2nd. Unfortunately, Talon was unable to attend the meeting because of his car accident, and so much of the organization of the new High Command was left undone. Still, a vast reorganization is undertaken by FS and the call for new recruits is given out. Foppa is appointed to leader of the KA squadron. The wargames are suspended. Finally, Paithian and Foppa receive the Medal of Valor. | |
| 1-9-98 | Flame leaves the Fatal Shadows. The KA squadron is without a leader. | |
| 1-4-98 | Due to movements in the wargames, the second custom mission of the fleet exercise is planned for creation. Because of the need for organization concerning all these missions, Kelannar creates the Fatal Shadows Mission Command Page. | |
| 12-28-97 | At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, owing to the inactivity of the RIM, a vote is taken and many members express interest in moving to another League. The wargames also resume. | |
| 12-20-97 | The Dark Dragons Squadron is created, under the leadership of Dragon. The 4 original fleets of the Fatal Shadows: Dagger, Catcher, Samurai, and Tarrasque, are consolidated into the Dagger and Tarrasque Fleets. Talon also considers adding Jedi Knight to the wargames, if enough members have it. During this time, because of the Christmas holidays, the wargames are suspended for a week. | |
| 12-21-97 | The first custom mission is flown in the fleet exercises. It was an attack on 2 TFs which were sent to the Gamma III space station. | |
| 12-15-97 | The Wargames officially begin. | |
| 12-9-97 | Owing to the inactivity of the RIM, since it is down, Talon declares that the Dagger Fleet and the Tarrasque Fleet will engage in a fleet exercise war-game, for practice to keep FS on its toes. Custom missions would be made and fought, and the wargames would be run almost exactly like the movements on the RIM - but Talon makes it a little better with his own improvements (like roleplaying and black ops). | |
| 12-7-97 | After a long time of absence Dragon returns and plans on starting up his own organization, the United Galaxies. However, he quickly abandons the idea and returns to the Fatal Shadows. | |
| 12-5-97 | Talon Kaarde and Kelannar negociate the breakup of BS and BF from the Fatal Shadows, with Darkfire representing BF and Ebon representing BS. After much work and skill, the negociations are a success and BS and BF are formally broken off from FS. Draconious approves and will no longer delete the 3 orgs. | |
| 11-23-97 | At a council of the United Nations of the RIM, all members agree to remain allies under the new system of the RIM - which will include imperials and rebels. | |
| 11-22-97 | The RIM is shut down. Draconious, planning a radical alteration to the RIM - with improvements and and incorporation of many new features, including Balance of Power and his own Ship Patch, shuts down the RIM for an indeterminate time. | |
| 11-21-97 | Unable to access the RIM again, Talon asks Kelannar to un-do the damage of EmpDestruct. When he assumed command of FS, EmpDestruct had reorganized the fleets according to his whim, and now it was necessary to re-organize them, since FS was planning to un-do the merger with BS, and split back into FS, BS, and BF. In the process of re-organizing the fleets, Kelannar captures the information so that the list could be used to simplify the breakup from BS and BF. Draconious orders that unless FS can successfully break away from BS and BF, all 3 orgs will be deleted. Also, Talon re-structures FS and asks all loyal members to email him to be included on the roster, to purge BS and BF from our lists. | |
| 11-19-97 | Lar gives the RIM to Draconious. As his last act, Lar gives the FS password back to Talon. Dezgra is purged from the ranks of FS. | |
| 11-18-97 | EmpDestruct SEIZES control of the Fatal Shadows from Talon Kaarde. This mutiny would not go unavenged, but Talon could not access the RIM, and the FS password was changed. EmpDestruct had done this by convincing Lar that Talon had retired because of the investigation of his "cheating.". Talon names EmpDestruct as Dezgra, a traitor, and asks for his formal removal from the RIM. EmpDestruct asks all FS members to consider him their leader. The entire FS org rejects EmpDestruct's claim to authority. | |
| 11-16-97 | Lar, after seeing Talon's defense, plans on giving up the investigation into Talon's cheating - after it was found that it was a false accusation. The accusation came about due to Talon's spynet - which was perfectly legal. Talon is exonorated but the spynet is lost. Lar also plans on giving up the RIM to Draconious, and Talon plans on retiring or breaking up the merger with BS since the merger was failing. RA begins to invade FS space. Again, Talon can't access the RIM to prepare for the assault of RA, so Kelannar in secret moves the FS ships back into our space to protect against RA. | |
| 11-14-97 | Lar, administrator of the RIM, publicly accuses Talon Kaarde of cheating. Many in FS see that there is no hope for the organization. Chaos plans to start a new organization to rescue the remnants of the Fatal Shadows from all these attacks, or if possible leave the RIM and go to a league which Draconious is planning. | |
| 11-9-97 | At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, a large re-structuring is done in accordance with the merger of BS. EmpDestruct of BS is made 2nd in command of the Fatal Shadows. It is clear to all, however, that conflict still exists over the restructuring and merger. At the same time also many other orgs declare war on FS, and the RIM states that it has the power to break up orgs that become too powerful. In short, FS is attacked from all sides. | |
| 11-8-97 | The Black Suns, fearing exermination at the wrath of the Fatal Shadows, agrees to MERGE with the Fatal Shadows. FS becomes the largest org in the history of the RIM - stretching across the entire map and controlling the inner sectors. However, this upsets the balance of power on the RIM and many organizations begin to fear FS without reason. Grand Admiral Talon Kaarde recieves many unwarranted threats and attacks. RA declares war on FS. | |
| 11-7-97 | The Fatal Shadows declares WAR on the Black Suns organization, which had already merged with Black Fire. This we could not stand for - since they were attacking our allies the Knights of Nee, and were planning on attacking FS. The FS Spy in BF is also lost. At a FS Staff meeting, Grand Admiral Talon Kaarde calls for their eradication from the RIM - and the capture of their primary flagship the Mon Cal cruiser Black Death. The United Nations of the RIM, among them AWR and SC, as well as CN and NIN, agree to declare war on BS also. The largest attack force in the history of the RIM is geared up for the battle. | |
| 11-5-97 | The Black Suns org merges with BF, making BS the largest org on the RIM, controling the central and southeastern sectors. | |
| 11-2-97 | BF increases the pressure on KN. The Fleets of FS are locked down by the rim, and uncloaked - exposed to all our enemies. It remains a mystery to this day as to how this sabotage happened. At the same time, due to technical problems with IE, Talon was unable to access the RIM and could not re-cloak the ships or move the remaining fleets. Therefore, in this emergancy Kelannar, under secrecy, was able to access the RIM and using the org password was able to re-cloak the entire fleet and move the remaining ships into position. At the FS meeting on Zebranet, Kelannar receives the medal of Valor. | |
| 11-97 | About this time the RIM undergoes a great rule change. Castes such as Smugglers, Pirates, Mercs, etc. were no longer in effect as they were replaced by the Attribute system - which allowed orgs and individuals to purchase the benifits of each caste at a high price. Thus, all benifits were open to everyone if they had the $$$. | |
| 10-31-97 | The Black Fire RIM organization attacks the Knights of Nee, an ally of FS. FS also gathers intel that BF plans on attacking RA. At a council of the United Nations of the Rim, Grand Admiral Talon Kaarde plans war on BF. Wedge of AWR, Xizor of SC, and Falconfire of RA agree. Using intel from FS, a 3-front plan is formulated to attack BF's flagship - the MonCal Black Death, and take as many BF sectors as possible. | |
| 10-30-97 | I would like to thank a great asset we have acquired in this Org Dragon, Between money sent to lar, That became credits for us and Kills hes acquired in Arbs i would like to thank him for Joining FS. Keep up the good work. All members being noticed doing good deeds will be put on the News page when there is nothing else to put so get crackin guys. | |
| 10/28/97 | I would like to welcome several new members to our organization. First off I would like to welcome Paithian, who joins us with the merger of Hell Hounds into Fatal Shadows. I am not for sure yet if he will bring any pilots with him as of now. but you never know:) Secondly, I would like to welcome Flame from the Katana Strikers. the Katana strikers have disbanded and has also merged with Fatal Shadows. with him he brings credits and SHips, both needed badly here. He also brings almost a full squadron of active pilots, ALSO needed here. Flame will send the names of these pilots to me, and I will in return give them to you guys. Hopefully my old friend Death Jester will be one of those joining us from KS. More on this to come. Our 3rd Lt. Dragon has came up with some money to donate to the Rim. in return we will be recieving a large amount of credits.along with what Cherokee has donated to the Rim, THIS will be what puts us over the top. right now we are still a small org compared to the big sharks out there who have won the first few arbitors and have those active pilots still in the org to help with single arbs. But we are gaining. It has been an uphill climb for us, and we have struggled against many an obstacle, but we have yet to falter, and have returned. Now we sit upon the eve of our greatest glory. And all on the Rim know the names of the Shadow Daggers, the Catcher Fleet, and soon will tremble with the sounds of the Red Knights. People, I have labored long and hard, but none of this could ever have happened with out your help. You guys have stuck by me through it all, and for that I am forever thankful. We were considered a Dead Organization, and some of you veterans will remember that. At one time Chaos and I almost left Fatal shadows, to join up elsewhere. Then a funny thing happened. I talked Chaos into sticking it out. I formed the Shadow Daggers. and then ran into a guy named Jackyll. Kraft became Active then the ball started rolling. new recruits rolled in as did the support. This thing that started what seemed So long ago, is now reaching it's fuitian.I would like to take this time to give all of you a round of applause and Kudos for all that you have done and sacrificed. Thank you Fatal Shadows, for being there for me!!!!! I hope to see All of you at the Meeting sunday. For the new members. The meetings are on SUnday nights at 9:00 PM EST on Kali. Server is Zebranet and room is DkRm password is ??????? - Email ChAoS If you forgot. Until next time then, good luck and good hunting. | |
| 10/27/97 | This Page got the MAKEOVER from HELL | |
| 10-25-97 | Sephiroth retires from the Fatal Shadows, having started his own organization, the Jedi Collective. Seph's retirement is accepted with goodwill by all in FS, after having explained that starting an organization of his own was a big dream of his, and that his time in FS was well spent. | |
| 10-19-97 | Talon Kaarde creates the Tarrasque Fleet. At the weekly meeting of the Fatal Shadows, Kelannar is promoted to Major 3rd Class, and is appointed to XO of the Tarrasque Fleet, under Black Razor (Vindicator), the fleet commander. Talon enters the meeting as "Rim_Reaper", to observe the members in disguise, and to check on security. Afterwards, he explains the importance of security and meeting passwords. | |
| 10-18-97 | The nomad idea is scrapped, as Lar returns the sectors to FS. Doc Austin, a FS member, was also found to be cheating on the Rim by having more than one account. For this, he is immediately expelled from FS, as well as the Rim. | |
| 10-15-97 | Talon learns that Lar, administrator of the Rim, is giving FS sectors to other organizations without purpose. Talon proposes to sell off all FS sectors and strike with just the fleets. | |
| 10-13-97 | The Dagger Fleet locates the location of KS's Phoenix fleet. | |
| 10-12-97 | Black Razor (Vindicator) joins FS, after defecting
from another Rim org. Talon creates the Fatal Shadows
medal and rank system, so people could be promoted and
awarded medals. After being at war with them, An alliance
is signed with Rapid Assault and the Knights of Nee, in
exchange fora total of 22 of their sectors - a gigantic
expansion of power on the Rim for FS. Chaos undertakes to
update the FS homepage. At the meeting of the Fatal Shadows, Talon Kaarde officially appoints himself Grand Admiral, and demotes the prior leaders, Aries and Cadmis, to Admiral. Chaos is appointed to Admiral, 2nd in Command. Sephiroth is appointed to Lt. Commander. Chaos is awarded the Medal of Honor, and Kraft the Medal of Valor. Dragon is appointed to Lt. 3rd Class, and Kelannar to Ensign. |
|
| 10-10-97 | Talon Kaarde assumes full command of the Fatal Shadows, after none of the High Council came to a scheduled meeting. In addition, the Katana Strikers betray the alliance, and attack and capture several FS sectors. Talon declares war on the Katana Strikers. | |
| 10-5-97 | At a meeting of the Fatal Shadows, Kelannar and Cherokee are introduced to the members. The Fatal Shadows allies with the Katana Strikers. Dragon is recruited to the organization as well. | |
| 10-2-97 | Kelannar is recruited by Admiral Talon Kaarde on Kali.
Kelannar had joined the RIM, but was not in any
organization. Kurse recruits him as an ensign in his
Pirate unit - the Fatal Shadows, the oldest organization
on the RIM XvT League. In a mass email to the Fatal Shadows members, Kurse explains recruiting another member also: Cherokee. |
|
| 9-19-97 | Kelannar registers Kali. |
